Workforce Development
November 13 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Join us for a workforce development presentation led by Rodney Ellis, Technical Workforce Director, and Kelley Williamson, Career & Technical Education Coordinator at Springdale Schools. Their team focuses on developing and enhancing training programs for high school students entering trades in various industries.
Springdale Public Schools hired Rodney Ellis, Workforce Director in 2022. Previously he worked at Tyson Foods implementing Industrial Maintenance Technology programs in over 80 high school and technical programs across the United States.
In 2018 Ellis worked with Kelley Williamson, Springdale District Career & Technical Education Director to place an Industrial program at the Don Tyson School of Innovation.
The district has a goal for every student to graduate with a plan for employment, enrolment, enlistment, or a combination of those options. Springdale is the first to offer a course in Heavy Equipment.
Students can earn their Commercial Driver’s License, technical certificates, and dual credit in construction technology while in high school. Industry partnerships are their focus to provide job opportunities for students while in high school.
